09 Dec Intertwining rows: Radda & Barbaresco
On the occasion of the Truffle Festival, we spent three days in Piedmont in the Langhe region, and more specifically in Barbaresco, to visit our fellow winemaker friends.
This connection of wine and friendship began last year at “Radda nel Bicchiere” when we hosted the winemakers from Barbaresco. The “Langaroli” then returned the invitation and opened the doors of their cellars to us.
“Intertwining rows” was the name of a crossword that was created for fun between Sangiovese and Nebbiolo, and it has now transformed into reality. After the Nebbiolo was brought to Radda, a delegation of the winemakers from Radda, led by President Roberto Bianchi, took the Sangiovese to discover the Langhe.
We saw where the Nebbiolo of Poderi Colla, Giuseppe Cortese and Cascina Fontana is born. We talked with the producers about their wines and their respective territories.
On the journey, we brought along our creation, the 53017 Vino dei Vignaioli, to share with our friends as we enjoyed the fabulous Piemontese cuisine of Osteria Italia.
White truffle, Nebbiolo & Sangiovese, a perfect trio.
A huge thank you to the Barbaresco producers for the warm hospitality! Sharing stories and experiences is always special, it enriches us all.
