Direttore dell’azienda agricola Caparsa
Caparsa is the winery run by Paolo Cianferoni and his large family since 1982: Gianna, his precious companion is full of energy, their son Federico works in the commercial department, another son Filippo just finished his studies and helps in the cellar and vineyard, their daughter Fiamma is a student at the Agricultural Institute of Siena, and then there are the youngest Cianferoni members, Flavio and Francesco.
The winery was purchased by Paolo’s father, Prof. Reginaldo Cianferoni in 1965 and it was he who began planting the vineyards. Paolo has recently completed the replanting which started in 1999, the estate now has 12 hectares of vineyards.
Caparsa is organic both in the vineyard and in the cellar. Sangiovese is the main grape variety at Caparsa. The winery is located in Radda in Chianti which is one of the most beautiful and fascinating territories in the world and one of the regions with the highest quality of wines. The wines of Caparsa have notes of unique and unmistakable acidity while the aromas and tannins express their regional authenticity. This authenticity accounts for their longevity. Caparsa’s philosophy can be summed up in one word: tradition. The winemaking tradition has been handed down since the beginning of sharecropping when wine was considered on par with food and as an accompaniment to the food itself. Tradition and wellness in all parts of production from vine to bottle are keys to the expression of Caparsa’s wines: the overall health of a wine signifies quality.
