Castello di Albola

Castello di Albola extends for 900 hectares of which 125 are planted with vines in a suggestive amphitheater of vineyards in Chianti Classico. Therefore, by taking a journey into the heart of Tuscany and arriving at the estate, you can enjoy the view of enchanting landscapes and breathe in an atmosphere steeped in Italian wine culture, made up of history and traditions that determine the deepest identity of Castello di Albola .
Belonging to the noble Florentine families who made the history of Tuscany, such as the Acciaioli, the Samminiati, the Pazzi and the Principi Ginori Conti, to pass in 1979 to the Zonin family, the property dates back to the Etruscan era, while the farm buildings date back to 12th century, when the property belonged to the Monterinaldi nobles.
Modern, according to the most current architectural criteria that respect the environment, perfectly inserted into the landscape, the cellar has all the cutting-edge tools and technologies of the wine sector.

The refinement phase, reserved for the great reds, takes place in the barrel rooms and barrel rooms created in the historic cellars of the village of Albola. As in the past, the fine oak barrels find in this evocative environment the ideal conditions, temperature and ventilation, to mature the Supertuscans, the Reserves and the Gran Selezioni.
The wines of Castello di Albola live up to their prestigious origins and are striking for their elegance and longevity, characteristics determined by position and altitude that make the estate unique. From the historic farms of Castello di Albola (such as Acciaiolo, Il Solatio, Santa Caterina) come wines created according to the French cru principle: each portion of land and each different terroir offer their own special and peculiar characteristics to a single, exclusive wine, so immediately recognizable among others.
The estate also produces extra virgin olive oil and, as required by the natural and typical scenography of Chianti, the orderly rows of olive trees flank the vineyards of the estate offering a beautiful sight.
