A cena con i Vignaioli

This year marks the fourth year of the prestigious event, “A Cena con i Vignaioli” (“Dinner with the Winegrowers”) during which, the Winegrowers of Radda will preview the ‘53017 – Vino dei Vignaioli di Radda’ 2021 vintage.

Saturday June 14th from 7:30 pm Piazza Ferrucci in Radda in Chianti (Siena) will host the gala dinner prepared and served by Osteria Le Logge di Siena.

Osteria le Logge was born from a shared passion for food and wine that inextricably united Gianni Brunelli and his life partner Laura. In 1977, the two decided to pour all of their energy into opening a restaurant a stone’s throw from Piazza del Campo in the historic center of Siena.
Gianni always said: “Eating is important, eating well is essential”.
These words embody the philosophy of the Osteria. Gianni and Laura unearth the most genuine and pure values from the past ​​but they are aware of the changing world as tastes evolve and cooking transforms into an emotional journey. Today Osteria Le Logge cleverly blends gourmet dining with traditional recipes. At the helm of the restaurant is a professional and dynamic staff, starting with the Restaurant Manager Mirco Vigni, the Maître d’ Agostino La Sorte and the Executive Chef Nico Atrigna. Laura has adjusted to balancing life and work commitments and she remains a constant presence.

For the event “Dinner with the Winegrowers”, Osteria Le Logge will present two menus:

Classic Menu
Slow-roasted pork cooked in olive oil, soft zolfini beans in olive oil and diced chives

Mille-feuille with grape leaf pesto and dried grape skin dusting

Duck confit cooked in a red wine and cherry reduction, creamed potatoes and mustard seeds

Leavened sweet bread with candied olives, fennel from Val di Chiana, English cream with Vin Santo

Heirloom tomatoes from the Le Logge garden, golden tomato juice, fresh sumac

Renowned Sanniti Linguine alla Nerano, with fried zucchini, and provolone

The recipes will use the ‘53017 – Vino dei Vignaioli di Radda’ and local products. “La Cena” will be accompanied by the most prestigious wines of the 25 Members of the Winegrowers Association of Radda.

The ‘Vignaioli di Radda’.

The Winegrowers Association’s mission is to spread the wine culture of Radda in Chianti by developing projects, in-depth meetings and events that support and promote excellence in viticulture, with particular attention to organic and biodynamic cultivation and production.
There are now 25 members: Arillo in Terrabianca, Borgo la Stella, Borgo Salcetino, Brancaia, Caparsa, Castello di Albola, Castello di Monterinaldi, Castello di Radda, Castello di Volpaia, Castelvecchi, Colle Bereto, Cortedomina, Fattoria di Montemaggio, Istine, L’Erta di Radda, Montevertine, Podere Capaccia, Podere Ferrale, Podere Terreno, Poggerino, Pruneto, Tenuta di Carleone, Tenute Selvolini, Val delle Corti, Vignavecchia.

‘Wine of the Winegrowers of Radda – 53017’.

One Territory, 25 winegrowers, one soul.
25 producers, 25 vineyards, 25 shades of Sangiovese from Radda in Chianti come together to create a uniquely individual wine that harmoniously represents the territory. An iconic bottle that expresses the collaboration between all of the Winegrowers of Radda and reflects their dedication to the region. In order to create this exquisite wine, each “Vignaiolo” contributes 27 liters of their best Sangiovese, the grape variety that is the heart and soul of our Chianti region. By blending all the wines together, they magically combine to give birth to “53017”, the Sangiovese of the Vignaioli di Radda. The name “53017” corresponds to the postal code of Radda in Chianti. The carefully blended wine rests in the depths of the cellars of Castello di Albola before seeing the light in the special Magnum bottle format on the evening of the “Cena”. Every bottle is numbered by hand which makes each magnum a one-of-a-kind.
