“53017 – Vino dei Vignaioli di Radda” 2021 vintage

On Saturday June 14th of this year, the 2021 vintage was released to the public in attendance.

Notes on the 2021 Vintage
The 2021 vintage can be considered one of the best vintages in recent years, creating a structured yet elegant Sangiovese with perfect balance.
A rainy springtime with low temperatures allowed good vegetative development of the vines and provided a water reserve for the summer.
Regarding the health of the vines, there was no pressure from fungal diseases.
The summer was dry with sporadic rain in August, fortunately the water reserves accumulated in spring protected the plants from water stress.
Temperatures were quite high during the day but dropped significantly at night.
This temperature range led to balanced ripening and a perfect harvest.

‘Wine of the Winegrowers of Radda – 53017’.

One Territory, 25 winegrowers, one soul.

25 producers, 25 vineyards, 25 shades of Sangiovese from Radda in Chianti come together to create a uniquely individual wine that harmoniously represents the territory. An iconic bottle that expresses the collaboration between all of the Winegrowers of Radda and reflects their dedication to the region. In order to create this exquisite wine, each “Vignaiolo” contributes 27 liters of their best Sangiovese, the grape variety that is the heart and soul of our Chianti region. By blending all the wines together, they magically combine to give birth to “53017”, the Sangiovese of the Vignaioli di Radda. The name “53017” corresponds to the postal code of Radda in Chianti. The carefully blended wine rests in the depths of the cellars of Castello di Albola before seeing the light in the special Magnum bottle format on the evening of the “Cena”. Every bottle is numbered by hand which makes each magnum a one-of-a-kind.
